It was written in response to the threat of uranium mining in the Orkneys. It has been arranged in many different forms from string orchestra, to bassoon quartet.

Serenade in A, op.96 - Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841)
Ferdinando Carulli was an Italian composer and classical guitarist and the author of the influential Méthode complète pour guitare ou lyre, op. 27 (1810), which contains music still used by student guitarists today. He wrote a variety of works for classical guitar, including numerous solo and chamber works and several concertos. He was an extremely prolific writer, composing over 400 works for the instrument, with over 70 of those being for guitar duo. He wrote three Serenades, this one being in A Major, which display the brilliant bravura characteristic of virtuoso concert pieces. The work is composed in three movements: I: Largo maestoso-Allegro moderato, II: Larghetto sostenuto, III: FINALE Poco allegretto.

Lo Que Vendra - Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992)
Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player and arranger. His works revolutionised the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. Lo Que Vendra gives a variety of feelings and emotions, with faster outer sections and a beautifully, haunting middle section.

Sonatina Canonica - Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968)
Sonatina Canonica was composed in 1961 for the legendary guitar duo formed by Ida Presti and Alexandre Lagoya. Conceived as a canon, the three movements in the Sonatina are a veiled homage to Domenico Scarlatti and his harpsichord music in the Spanish idiom. The first and third movements are full of excitement and energy which contrast the slow, melancholic middle movement. The musical figures are passed, back and forth, between the two instruments throughout the work.
